A Merry Christmas

We had a very merry Christmas. It was nice to be with family. We had several rounds of present opening and each time my family room looked like a tornado hit. Warren loved opening presents and made sure he got to open everyone's. He got mad if you tried to open your own. Garryn didn't get to open any of his presents since Warren opened them all before he woke up.

Warren had to see how everything worked

Garryn enjoys being around Devon. He is a good big brother

Warren got bubbles in his stocking. He wanted to blow them all on his own. He got more on himself then in the air

Garryn enjoyed dumping Warren's Nerds. He started licking them off the floor after he was done dumping

Grandma Tripp bought Devon a set that had a bunch of flying things. The kids enjoyed watching the balloons fly around the room. It was quite entertaining to watch

Christmas Eve

For Christmas eve we made sugar cookies for Santa

My baby turned one today

I feel kind of bad because today was Garryn's 1st birthday, and I set up a doctor's appointment him for today. I knew he would get shots, but I didn't think about how miserable he would be. That is no way to spend your birthday!! I feel so bad. He kept rolling around on the ground crying. I was trying to get a picture to show how miserable he was, but as soon as I pulled the camera out he started to pose. If you enlarge this picture by clicking on it you can see a tear running down the left side of his face. SO SAD!!


He couldn't pose forever and I did manage to get a picture of him looking pretty miserable. So you don't think I am a mean mom for taking pictures instead of consoling him. I did do that first, but he was too miserable and just wanted down.


He recovered a bit by evening and was ready for some cake. He even started singing Happy Birthday to himself after we did.

He really enjoyed his cupcake. I hope that makes up for me getting him shots on his birthday. Probably not, but it makes me feel better to think so.

Birthday

I had my birthday last Thursday. It was a perfect day filled with family. For lunch Jayson and I went to get my free meal at Joe' BBQ. Then we went with the kids to see the temple lights that evening. I am so grateful for my family.

Thanksgiving Weekend

This is what my two youngest were up to last weekend. My Aunt Florence caught them and took pictures of them on her cell phone. That is Comet Warren is trying to clean Garryn with. I guess he thought he was REALLY dirty.

Sperry Family

I took Leslie's family pictures for her on Saturday. I think they turned out well. She is going to take our family pictures for us if we can ever find a time that works for both of us. I hope we get our christmas cards out this year.

Hedgehog

I told you about Amber's obsession with hedgehogs. Well here is her latest art project. We framed it and put it on our art wall.

I hope to someday have the whole staircase filled with my kids art work.

Orchestra Concert

Amber started playing the violin this year. Last night was their first concert. She did really well.

Getting Pavers

We are getting pavers put in the front of our house and in our back yard. We had somebody come out today to take our concrete out of our front walkway and courtyard. They will start putting the pavers in on Wed. I am so excited. I think it is going to look really nice. I will post an after picture when it is done.

Wisdom Teeth

Devon got his wisdom teeth pulled early this morning. It was weird seeing him when they first brought me back. He was totally out of it, and he didn't have control of his face. It kind of freaked me out. I kept giggling. I am not sure why, but I kind of get a bit of hysterics when I freak out. He reminded of me of my friend Robin. She was in a car accident about 15 years ago. She has never fully recovered. I am not sure exactly what is wrong with her, she is awake but she's not really there. Devon had the same look on his face when I saw him. I am happy he is doing better now. He is resting on the couch and Warren went and laid down next to him and fell asleep. Devon is happy that he will be able to eat regular food by the time Thanksgiving comes.

Halloween

So, I am a little late getting these out. I have been in a bit of a funk. I sliced a small chunk of skin off the tip of my thumb Saturday morning. It bleed forever and I didn't feel like doing anything, because I kept bumping into things and it would start bleeding again. It is better now, but still pretty gross. I know you really wanted to hear about it. Hope I didn't gross you out too much. Good thing it goes along with a Halloween post. Here are my little trick or treaters. Devon made himself a mask of himself. His old friend thought he was going as Bill Clinton. He is so much better looking than Bill. Good thing he doesn't wear a mask all the time.

Here is one of Garryn. He has the biggest smile. I was a little too late to get him looking at me, but he still looks adorable. I love these guys (and gal) !

Solar Cooking

A really cute older lady that I go to church with taught a class on how to use solar ovens. I used mine for the first time yesterday. It worked great. I didn't even have to heat up my house. I think I want to get one more so I can cook bigger meals. I do have five kids (six if you include my husband). If you want to read up about them you can go here.

Kaitlyn

Leslie's little girl Kaitlyn turned three yesterday. We celebrated last Saturday with a party in the park. Happy Birthday Kaitlyn!!

Green Bookshelves

Here are the before and after photos of my old bookshelves I redid. I really like how they turned out.

I am just starting to get this room together, but you get the idea of how its going to look.

Party

Brennon got invited to a party this Saturday. He is so excited that he kept following me around the house yesterday asking me to read the invitation.

WaaaHaHaa!

I gave Warren some of my hot chocolate to drink on Saturday. He managed to get the perfect villain mustache and goatee. I think he is adorable!

Lots of projects!

I have been busy painting my house. Right now I am working on the 22 foot walls in my living and dining room. It has been interesting trying to get up that high. I used a long pole to get all the way up the walls, but I had to get a long latter to get around our upper windows. It was pretty scary up there. I am happy to have it finished.

Look at the cool dresser I got at a yard sale last weekend for $40. I am going to refinish it and put it in my craft room. I am planning on putting my wrapping paper in the long drawers, and also adding wooden dowels across the mirror to hold ribbon. I will post when I am finished with it.I got busy stripping it today. It is going to be a lot of work.

I am also working on a set of bookshelves for my living room right now. I am painting them green. I will post them when I am finished.
